Oh boy, since I sent the maid away before Christmas, I hardly have time to blog here anymore. Lots to update on my precious little Bri Bri :)
Bri Bri has had many first time experiences in the past month. For a start, early this month, it was the first time that Bri Bri has left the country and visited "Kau Fu and Kam Mo" (my brother and sis in-law) in Singapore! We left on 4 February for Kluang, Johore and for the next 3 days we were in Singapore. Initially we had some trouble getting to Singapore as my dad's road tax expired and he was not aware of it. We ended up taking a cab from Kluang to Johore and switch cab from there to enter Singapore. I believe it was also the first time that Bri Bri sat in a taxi and he sat in 2 different ones on the same day! lol It was pouring rain that day and we ended up in Singapore past 5pm. It was indeed a very tiring day for all of us. However, on the whole it was a good trip to Kluang and Singapore.
In Kluang we stayed with Michael's aunties and it was also the first time that Bri Bri finally called them. It took him sometime to call them properly as calling them was a mouthful for him and required patience on our part in teaching him but finally, we did hear him say "Yee Ku Por and Sam Ku Por" which means 2nd grand aunt and 3rd grand aunt. In Singapore, he was also very attached to "Kau Fu" and I also believe it was the first time Bri Bri called him properly and very well. You can hear him keep calling "Kau Fu, Kau Fu, Kau Fu" and running up to him to grab his hand. lol
When we got back home, I caught a bad cough which lasted till now. I must have passed it to Bri Bri as he developed a bad cough and cold last week. When we took him to the doctor, we realized it was more severe than mere cough and cold. He had bronchitis for the first time :( He was wheezing, so the doctor had to give him a nebulizer treatment for the first time. It was scary both for Bri Bri and for us. He cried the first time the nurse placed the mask kit on him and turned the machine on. We had to bring him back for a 2nd dose that night itself and was expecting him to resist the treatment again. However, this time to my surprise, Bri Bri was very brave and calm. He sat very still and allowed the nurse to do the treatment on him without any fuss. The nurse also commented that she has never seen a little boy not crying or screaming when doing the nebulizer treatment. I was so proud of my little boy. We took some photos of him while he was on the treatment and I've posted it in here.
Some of the other firsts of Bri Bri's are that he has mastered his bicycle or rather tricycle. haha. He can ride it well now and often rides it around the house. Months ago we introduced the tricycle to him but he could only cycle it backwards or used his legs to move it forward. He didn't play with it for a long time but suddenly had a new found interest in it this month and we are so happy that he is a fast learner.
Talking of fast learner, Bri Bri is super good with gadgets. I wrote earlier that he learned how to type quite easily on the computer and now he can operate the dvd player all on his own! He has a portable dvd player of his own and after watching us play it a few times, now he can open it, select his dvd, put in the dvd, close it, press play. Whenever he wants to change dvd, he knows how to stop it, eject it, remove the dvd and replace with the one that he wants, close it and press play again. He can press play using the remote control as well. Sometimes the speed that he learns things amazes me. I wish he could learn to talk as fast. His vocabulary has improved a little but is still far behind. However, I can see that my little Bri Bri is very bright and I am very proud of him no matter what. He is fast asleep now and I finally have a little time to myself before going to bed. Sleep well my little sweetheart. Hope you'll have fun in play school tomorrow :)
Wow! Bri Bri can do a lot of things now! That's good. =D
ReplyDeleteSean had to go for the nebulizer too. He had to stay overnight at the hospital.
Thanks Marlina. Miss you and Sean at the play School.
ReplyDeleteYa I read about Sean using the nebulizer on your blog before. Sad that he had to stay overnight at the hospital. Glad he is ok now. It's hard to see our kids suffer isn't it?
great to know that Brian is ok with the nebulizer! he most certainly is a brave and bright boy! :)
